This week marks the 5th anniversary of my autoimmune diagnosis.
That fateful day that ended with me in a hospital bed, hooked up to various machines, awaiting the answers as to why I had been feeling so ill and so sad, so weak and so stressed for so many months. Spring is a time of renewal, and Mother Nature has provided everything we need to shed Winter’s layers and open ourselves up to sunshine and increased activity. Perhaps ironically, autoimmune flares often happen during seasonal transitions such as this, so it is helpful to have transitional plants and tools on hand to help us move through these setbacks and heal again. I have been making my own deodorant for a few years now. When I started developing eczema, hives and angry rashes in my second year of Graves, I stopped being able to wear any deodorant on the market…even plain old Dr Mist gave me a rash and rock crystals simply failed to work. Read more
